THE FINAL STAGE
Once your file is saved as a combined multi file it will be too late to make any changes so do one last final check of everything before proceeding.
Log in to your Adobe Acrobat DC Pro account.
To install a free trial version:
Click here to go to Install Adobe Acrobat Pro DC Trial
The opening screen will look something like this:
Click on File
Hover over Create
Another submenu will appear.
Select Combine Files into a Single PDF
Select files navigation panel will appear
Select your pdf files one by one in numerical order or hilight first and last file to cut and paste the entire list of pdf files at once.
They will appear as thumbnails
Click on Combine
When the files are combined as one you can save as your book proof.
If your file is too large for the printers requirements (work on around 9MB) you will have to split it in two and send it in halves. In this case you must make two separate combined files.
When I submitted my proof I had to do that, due to the size of some of the files that contained graphics.
My book had 64 pages so I save files 1 – 40 on one combined file and 41 – 64 on another. It’s that easy!
Alternatively I could have compressed the one file as a zip file but I chose to leave as is and send in two parts.
It will depend on what is easiest for you.
